WE ARE THRILLED THAT WE HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO RECEIVE A MATCHING GRANT OF $430,213 FROM THE NJ HISTORIC TRUST.
Your support and donations were key to helping us raise the matching funds necessary to win the grant. With the grant money, we will be able to fully fund Phase 1 and Phase 2 of our capital campaign. We are still raising funds for Phase 3, which will improve the form and function of our library’s interior including furnishings and shelving, wall finishes, window muntins, lighting, computers and technology.
🍂📚 September at the Tewksbury Library
September brings the first hints of autumn to the Tewksbury Library, with school back in session and a fresh season of programs getting under way. There is still time to claim your Summer Reading ice cream cone — bring in your drawing any time through September 15, and remember that this year’s adult challenge earns a cone as well. Throughout the month you will find our regular favorites returning, from book club and chair yoga to canasta, mahjong, and outdoor storytime while the weather holds. Whether you are picking out something new for the chair by the window or joining a program for the first time, the library remains a welcoming place to learn, connect, and settle into the season. Library Restoration Underway
Restoration of our 217-year-old library building is under way. The work will address serious deficiencies in the building’s support structure, restore the historic foyer and first floor library room, improve electrical, mechanical and computer systems, and regrade the property to protect the foundation. Once construction begins the library will close for four to six months, with limited service continuing just down the street.
